Why is it that some (only some) artwork appears 'faded' in Plex iOS? The tracks in the screenshots use the exact same artwork. I'm guessing it has to do with color palette maybe?

Seems like one of the latest updates has broken Camera Upload. When I came to sync my photos like I've always done it refused to do anything without first re-selecting a library.

Once I'd done that and triggered an upload instead of uploading the missing photos it proceeded to upload everything from scratch duplicating all the photos adding "-1" suffix.

Is this a known issue?

Support for Apple Watch would be awesome - allowing for pause/play, next, previous and choose a player :D

Just updated the iOS plex app on both iPad and iPhone and noticed that the home screen UI navigation defaults to portrait mode only on iPhone. The iPad home screen navigation in landscape is unaffected.

Is there a way to restore the iPhone home screen navigation to landscape mode?

Just to be clear, video playback on the iPhone is in landscape, but the app UI navigation only displays in portrait.

This has created several embarrassing moments in public silent places, especially the first time it happened.

Videos will start playing in the background of the locked iPhone 6, most recent versions of Plex and iOS. Never did this before last week. Was there an update? Is there a workaround aside from simply deleting the app altogether? This is too embarrassing to tolerate. Love Plex, am a lifetime paid member, but I may need to uninstall. :(

We faced this issue some days ago, some of the movie files (working perfectly by web or by PHT) never start to play on ios app. It's seems that the playback begins but suddenly stop it and mark the file as viewed.
My IOS version is: 9.3.1(13E238)
Iphone Model: Iphone 5(ND297B/A)

I keep getting the following error when trying to download synced content (music) to my iPhone 6S:
Please ask the server owner to allow sync for your account

I am the admin of the account and have a Plex Pass. It allows me to sync the content to my phone and I can see the local and synced content but the moment I try to download using 'down arrow' I get the error above. Is there a setting that needs to be enabled under 'My Home'?

Just to be clear does Plex allow me to download music to my phone and if so would it be placed in 'music' with the rest of my audio on my iPhone?

I synced a certain number of items on my iPad Mini 4 with latest iOS and latest Plex app.
All items are marked as synced in the Sync configuration panel, but the Sync label of the panel is red.
There is one specific movie (Deadpool), when I try to read it, I have the attached screen, which I don't know the function of the "reload" arrow. Pressing it results un a brief "Loading" message before getting back to the same screen.
That's the only item I have an issue with. Any idea what's the reason?
If logs are required, please tell me which you want and I'll share them.

I have a iPhone 6+ and I am in the 9.3 beta program and I activated the app to be able to access my media anywhere but since the update I can't access my media over a data connection I can just fine on my iPad that is just 9.2 and I can access my media over wifi when I am not on my network.
What I have done
- reinstalled Plex on iPhone
- Reset network settings on iPhone
- Made sure the app was activated
- iPhone is set to all Plex to use background data and cellular data
any ideas?

On an iphone 6s plus the connection icon keeps showing (the icon next to the wifi or 4/3G icon) when in the plex app. Even after a long period of time it doesn't go away. This doesn't happen with other apps.

This should mean that there's continuous network activity, but I'm not syncing or playing anything. Is this a bug, or is plex actually doing something in the background?

I know there are a few outstanding issues with Sync, but before I delete the app & clear out sync settings to get my client working again I thought it was worth reporting this one for 2 reasons. 1 my issue is a little different form the known issues (I think) and 2 I am running the latest Plex ß build.

My Problem
I have a 16Gb iPad Mini gen 1 so fairly limited on space. I am running iOS 9.3.1 (I realise a new update has been released but cannot install until I solve the sync issue with Plex). Just before going away for a few days I set lots of videos (films and TV) to sync and left the app loaded, the tablet connected to power overnight. Loads of the items sync'd and all was well.

I went away and didn't watch any of the sync'd items, but on my return watched a number of the sync'd items on my Roku. I expected that the iPad would go through it's sync, clear out the watched episodes, free up space, and then download some new ones.

It turns out that part of that process is not working because, despite most of the programs I have set to sync now being watched on the Plex Server they are still trying to download onto the iPad. The downloads are unable to complete due to the iPad being full. This leads me to think there is something wrong with the sync logic in the iOS app as watched items (whether watched on the iPad or another device) are not being removed from the local cache on the device before other files are trying to download (or the check whether there is space for more downloads to happen). In this scenario for example I can see that one particular show is set to sync 1 episode, low quality, unwatched media only; there are no unwatched episodes of the show on the server but the sync status is "0% Queued". The overall sync status for the ipad is "Not Syncing" "Storage Limit Reached".

I tried to resolve the space issue by manually deleting one of the sync'd films on the iPad by telling it not to sync which has removed it from the list of items in Sync Settings but if I try to change any other sync'd shows (such as reducing the number of episodes) I see an error like: "Service Error. Version Mismatch (old: 5, new:4)"

Is this worth investigating further or should I go through the "Remove Plex App" process and clear my issue?

I'm using the latest Plex app for iPad. Everything was working fine until today. I have 340 movies loaded on the server. When I try to scroll through the movies in "Browse" mode, I get one screen full of thumbnail images but as soon as I start to scroll down, the screen clears and I get the "Error loading content" message. I can view all of the movies fine using the web interface. Any ideas?

I'm running the latest version of Plex(MediaServer) on FreeBSD 10.2, an iPad and an iPhone 5 with iOS 9.2.1 with the App freshly installed from the AppStore as well as an aTV 2nd with the latest PlexConnect.

I've got two categories on the server: Movies and TV Shows with the respective content. Both show the same behavior. "Discover" works fine, but as soon as I switch to "Browse" I get a "Error loading content". I have no filters set. On some combination it does work. When I order my content by release date, the content (all of it) get's displayed. I can search for it, or browse TV shows by first letter. But displaying it e.g. ordered by name instantly results in "Error loading content". The Plex Web GUI works fine. The result is pretty much the same on iOS and the aTV 2nd generation.

I assume, the relevant error is one of the Error writing media: 32 - Broken pipe, but unfortunately the Logfile doesn't go into any more detail.

The audio are mix when you play a multi languages movie on iPad Pro. Same file on my iMac or my MacBook or the iPad of my son, no problem but on my iPad Pro i have the two sound tracks in the same time : french and english. A new release for that please...iOs Version 9.3.1

Hello...is there a way in the next update to Re-enable File Sharing within the App?

I can play server content to a Chromecast device just fine but when I try to play locally synced content it errors saying the content is unavailable. The same locally cached content plays fine on the iPhone itself.

This scenario works perfectly well on Plex for Android.

As extra info, I am using a personal hotspot to connect to the Chromecast, this is a good way when in a hotel for instance where the wifi often has a sign in page and you can't use with Chromecast.

Any ideas?

Hi there, I am having some issues with the app when playing through Chromecast. Whenever I open the app, I have to re-enable "Allow DirectPlay" (mine is in Portuguese so it might be a different label". I turn it on, watch whatever I am watching, next time I open the app again? Disabled.

The title just says it … i added some 1080p-videos (30 fps) shot with iphone 4s, added them to pms as home videos and the plex ios app (on that same iphone 4s) just can't play this same video file without transcoding – (yes, direct stream ist set in prefs of pms and plex for ios) … why o why???

Hello. Here is the problem. I do not know if anyone can help but lets find out. So yesterday all of a sudden I tried to play a video in plex. Everything loaded like movie posters, details, etc. Once I clicked on a video to play, that is when nothing would happen. It would only show the spinning wheel like it was about to load the movie but the spinning wheel would not go away. I ended up exiting and closing the app altogether. I was curious so I opened up YouTube app and tried a video there and it gave back a playback error please try again. I then hard resetted and soft resetted my iphone. I went into the YouTube app first and tried to play any video and it worked flawlessy. I then exited it and opened up the Plex app. It started and I saw my movies and home page. I went to click play and nothing again, just the spinning wheel. So to double check, i exited the plex app again and reopened the YouTube app to play any video AND same problem as before, all I got was a playback error. My phone is jailbroken so I ended up deleting every tweak I had so basically it can start fresh like nothing was installed from the jailbreak. Still didnt do anything. I went and checked on all my iPads that are jailbroken. I didnt delete any tweak from the jailbreak, I just left everything as is. I opened plex on all iPads and everything works. I opened up YouTube and every other video app and they all played videos. Every idevice was jailbroken and I did not have to delete anything or reset anything. This issue is only on my iPhone and this happened yestereday after updating to the most recent plex app. BUT i will say the iPads all are updated also so I do not know whats the issue. PLEASE HELP ANYONE THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!!
